I went to the post office today thinking it had only been a week since my last visit. I don't go downtown everyday and I find that a weekly visit to the P.O. box is sufficient. Along with the usual mail was a notice that 20 cents was due on a delivery I had been anticipating. Unfortunately, there was not one but two such notices and the said delivery had been returned YESTERDAY. It turns out that I had not been to the post office for two weeks. Did a week vanish somewhere? I admitted to the postal clerk that I had been negligent in checking my mail and to this confession she replied, "Yes, you have." Shame. Mr. Harris, I am so sorry to have bothered you with returned mail. I shall do better in future.

It is so true that ocassionally you 'lose' whole days, weeks, and in my case often my mind. I don't know where it gets off to but it is very vague when it gets back again.

I like your sense of humor, Kathleen and understand what you're saying as my mind is habitually wandering off into daydreams like a child to a playground:o)
